Yellow Orange Ripple

Coloured pencil, pastel, and acrylic paint and medium on curved wood panel

cm: 40 x 49 x 5

This was the back of an old vinyl chair I found. There are machined holes near the corners and some glue residue that was absorbed into the wood and remained after removing the upholstery, cleaning and sanding. I used the holes, glue stains and wood grain as starting points for the characters. I drew this mostly at Woodbine Beach in Toronto in 2019.

This piece curves out from the wall as you may notice in the shadow, making it more unique. I am currently working on this piece, so this is still a work in progress. I will be finished by the end of August.
