I found this wood panel in my brother’s barn. It was cut from a highway sign. I have added small copper rounds (as eyes) from some electronics I disassembled.
After we experience something, the memory of it begins its own journey in our mind.
Original art on reclaimed wood

Coloured pencil, pastel, and acrylic paint and medium on curved wood panel
cm: 40 x 49 x 5
This was the back of an old vinyl chair I found. There are machined holes near the corners and some glue residue that was absorbed into the wood and remained after removing the upholstery, cleaning and sanding. I used the holes, glue stains and wood grain as starting points for the characters. I drew this mostly at Woodbine Beach in Toronto in 2019.
This piece curves out from the wall as you may notice in the shadow, making it more unique. I am currently working on this piece, so this is still a work in progress. I will be finished by the end of August.
